Dallas Dominates in Edmonton, Wins 5-3

Mason Marchment Scores Game-Winning Goal

The Dallas Stars stole home-ice advantage in the Western Conference Finals with a 5-3 victory over the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday night at Rogers Place. The Stars now lead the series 3-2 and will return to Edmonton for Game 6 on Thursday night.

Wyatt Johnson led the Stars with a pair of goals, while Mason Marchment scored the game-winning goal in the third period. Jason Robertson and Roope Hintz also scored for Dallas. Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, and Evan Bouchard replied for the Oilers.

The Stars got off to a fast start, scoring twice in the first period. Johnson opened the scoring just 2:37 into the game, and Robertson made it 2-0 less than five minutes later. The Oilers responded with a goal from McDavid late in the first period, but the Stars regained their two-goal lead early in the second period on a goal from Hintz.

The Oilers tied the game early in the third period on goals from Draisaitl and Bouchard, but Marchment scored the game-winner just over five minutes later. The Oilers pulled goalie Jack Campbell with two minutes remaining, but they could not find the equalizer.

The Stars will now look to close out the series in Game 6 on Thursday night. The Oilers, meanwhile, will need to win Game 6 and Game 7 in Dallas to advance to the Stanley Cup Final.
